Hewerton Moreira and Marco Terminesi had a pair of two-point goals, Guiliano Oliveiro scored the game's only three-point goal and Troy Dusosky and Kyt Selaidopoulos each had a two-pointer and an assist as the Milwaukee Wave retook sole possession of the lead in the Major Indoor Soccer League standings Friday in Independence, MO by beating the Missouri Comets 17-16 at the Independence Events Center.
Tom Oatley also had a goal for the Wave.
The Wave, the league's defending regular season champion, are now 9-3, a half-game ahead of the Baltimore Blast and will next host the Omaha Vipers Saturday at US Cellular Arena.
Byron Alvarez led the Comets with a six-point night on a pair of standard goals and a pair of assists while Jamar Beasley and Vahid Assadour tallied four points each on a two-pointer and two assists.
Leo Gibson and Lucas Rodriguez had a two-point goal and an assist as the Comets fell to 4-9, tied for last place in the league standings with the Chicago Riot. Chicago will travel to the Omaha Civic Auditorium to play the Vipers Sunday.
