Tottenham Owner Tells Two Different Stories On Beckham's Arrival

Just when it was thought reports of midfielder David Beckham not being loaned out from Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy, the defending Western Conference champion, to Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League comes conflicting words from the team's owner, Harry Redknapp.

Sunday, Tottenham's website stated Beckham would be coming to them to train for a month, but would not play in any EPL games with them, nor would he be loaned to the team, and he would return to the Galaxy February 10 in time for the MLS preseason.

Later in the day, speaking to Sky Sports News in England, Redknapp downplayed the disappointing news by saying "(i)t's not a problem, you just get on with (your season)."

Then, even later in the day, in an interview with the Associated Press, Redknapp called the process toward Beckham coming "ongoing" and said a loan agreement "could still happen".
