Johnny Torres had a game-high seven points on a three-point goal and two two-pointers as the visiting Omaha Vipers got past the Chicago Riot 13-11 in Major Indoor Soccer League play Sunday from the Odeon Sports & Expo Center in Village Park, IL.
Ryan Junge, Mauricio Hernandez and Victor Quiroz each had a two-pointer for the Vipers, now 4-4 and in third place in the league standings, two games behind the co-league-leading Baltimore Blast and the defending regular season champion Milwaukee Wave.
Omaha will host the Wave this Friday night, then welcome the Missouri Comets to town Saturday.
Eric Duda had a three-pointer for Chicago, Semir Mesanovic scored a two-pointer and assisted on a Fred Degard goal, and Miodrag Djerisilo and Bato Radoncic had two-pointers each. The Riot have the worst record in the league at 1-6, 4 1/2 games behind the Wave and the Blast.
Chicago will host the Blast next Sunday.
