Syracuse Becomes Second City To Join USL I-League

Syracuse will join fellow New York city Rochester as a member of the United Soccer Leagues' revived indoor soccer league, the USL I-League, when it debuts this fall, according to a league announcement Tuesday.

The team, whose name and logo will be announced at a later date, will have an ownership group led by former USL First Division Rochester Rhinos and National Professional Soccer League Cleveland Crunch player Tommy Tanner.

The Rochester franchise has already revived the name Lancers, which was the name of a team in the outdoor North American Soccer League.
