The Fort Lauderdale Strikers, formerly the Miami FC Blues, of the North American Soccer League announced Wednesday they have signed head coach Daryl Shore to a contract extension.
Shore was promoted from assistant coach to head coach in July 2010 after Victor Pastora was fired as head coach and led the Blues to a 5-5-3 record in the USSF Division 2 Pro League, including winning their last five games of the season.
Shore played goalkeeper in college at Birmingham-Southern College, then went on to play professionally for the Birmingham Grasshoppers and the New Orleans Riverboat Gamblers.
He served 10 seasons under five different head coaches with Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire before joining the Blues.
