Player-head coach Greg Howes had a hat trick to carry the Tacoma Stars to a 7-4 victory over the Wenatchee Fire in Professional Arena Soccer League action Saturday from the Tacoma Soccer Center.
Daniel Gray had two more goals and Ian Weinberg, who had a hat trick in the Stars' last game, and Leighton O'Brien added solo goals as Tacoma improved to 8-4-0, good for second place in the Western Division. They will host the defending league champion San Diego Sockers Friday.
Wenatchee is now 3-5-0 and in third place in the new Pro Frontier Division. The Fire will face the Washington Soccer Association Rapids from the Premier Arena Soccer League Saturday at the Bellingham Sportsplex.
