Spurs VP Wants To Bring USL PRO, Then MLS, To San Antonio

According to the San Antonio Express News, Leo Gomez, vice president of Spurs Sports & Entertainment, owner of the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, said Thursday the company will propose bringing a expansion team in USL PRO to play 12-15 home games at Alamo Stadium in San Antonio in the 2012 season, then see the team become an expansion team in Major League Soccer.

The plan would see the stadium keep its football field but lose the eight-lane track around the field to expand the pitch.
