The defending Professional Arena Soccer League champion San Diego Sockers announced Wednesday they are loaning defender John Krause to a Turkish Professional Soccer player combine in Istanbul for 10 days.
Krause has scored four goals and an assist in the team's first eight games of the PASL season.
Sockers officials are looking to sign a player to fill Krause's spot on their 13-man roster.
In related news, the team has called up two players from their developmental team in the Premier Arena Soccer League, the San Diego Fusion -- defender Rhett Bernstein and midfielder/forward Nelson Pizarro.
Bernstein is in his second season with the Fusion and has played outdoor soccer in Sweden, Israel and Puerto Rico as well as Brown University.
Pizarro is in his first season with the Fusion after playing two seasons in Major League Soccer for the Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting Kansas City) and one season with the Miami FC Blues in the USL First Division.
