The San Antonio Scorpions, a North American Soccer League expansion team in 2012, announced Friday they will hold a contest to allow artists and designers to create suggestions for the team's logo.
Artists can send their conceptions by e-mail to jlizardo@starsoccerusa.com or drop them off at the South Texas Area Regional (STAR) Soccer Complex in San Antonio by 5 p.m. Central time February 4.
A group of judges will select three finalists from all entries and fans will be allowed to cast one voter per day on their favorite logo at www.soccerforacause.com or by filing out an entry form in the San Antonio Express-News between February 15-28 with the winner to be announced in March.
The winning logo's artist will receive $1,000 cash, a VIP outing for 20 at a Scorpions home game and an assortment of team gear with their logo on them.
Each of the runners-up will receive a team jersey with the new logo and 10 tickets to any home game.
Fans who vote on the logos will also be eligible for a drawing to win team gear and four tickets to a home game.
