Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls announced Monday they will face Club Atlas de Guadalajara of Mexico's Primera Division March 8 at the Challenge Of The Sun exhibition match at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
The game will reunite current Red Bulls Designated Player and Mexican National Team member Raifa Marquez with the team where he began his professional career, playing 77 games from 1996 to 1999.
He then played the next seven seasons in Spain's La Liga with FC Barcelona, including being part of a 2008-09 season team that won six championship titles.
He played in ten regular season and two playoff games since joining New York midway through last season, but this will be Marquez's first full season there.
