Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls signed Norwegian midfielder Jan Gunnar Solli to the roster Monday.
He most recently played for SK Brann in Norway from 2007 to 2010, scoring eight goals in 97 matches.
At SK Brann, he led them to their first Norwegian Premier League title since 1963 in 2007 and helped them reach the Round of 32 at the 2007-08 UEFA Cup.
Solli began his professional career in 2000 with Odd Grenland in the NPL, where he played 54 games over four seasons.
He was transferred in 2003 to Rosenborg BK, scoring three goals in 85 games between then and 2006, and leading them to three NPL titles -- back-to-back championships in 2003 and 2004, and another in 2006.
The team also won the Norwegian Cup in 2003 and reached the Group Stage of the 2004-05 UEFA Champions League.
Solli also plays for his country's national team, last appearing in a 2-1 victory over Iceland in an 2012 UEFA European Championship qualification match September 30, 2010.
