Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls announced Monday the addition of Jan Halvor Halvorson as the top assistant coach to head coach Hans Backe, replacing Goran Aral.
He joins the Red Bulls after serving as head coach of Notodden FK in Norway's second dvision.
Halvorson had previous managerial experience with Sogndal and IK Start in Norway's Premier League amd GIF Sundsvall in Sweden and played 10 seasons as a defender in Norway and the Netherlands.
