Orlando City of USL PRO announced Thursday Ian Fuller will become the team's first player-coach, assisting head coach Adrian Heath.
Fuller played college soccer at Clemson, then became the 21st overall pick in the 2002 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by the New England Revolution.
From 2003 to 2005, he played for the USL First Division's Rochester Rhinos, then, in 2005, he played for the USL-1's Vancouver Whitecaps and the USL Second Division Charleston Battery, where he stayed until after the 2010 season, when he joined the USSF Division 2 Pro League's Austin Aztex as a player-coach.
Before going to the Aztex, which was renamed Orlando City Soccer Club when they announced the franchise was moving in October 2010, Fuller led the Battery to USL-2's first and only "double" in league history, winning the 2010 regular season and league championship titles.
