Ryan Junge scored a pair of two-point goals and Mauricio Hernandez opened the game with a two-pointer as the Omaha Vipers edged the host Missouri Comets 6-4 Sunday in Major Indoor Soccer League play at the Independence Events Center in Independence, MO.
The Vipers evened their record in their inaugural season to 5-5, good for third place in the five-team MISL, and it puts them a game behind the Baltimore Blast for second place and 2 1/2 games behind the defending regular season champion Milwaukee Wave.
Vahid Assadpour and Leo Gibson had two-point goals for Missouri.
The Comets, also an expansion team this season, are 3-7 and tied for last place with the Chicago Riot (2-6), 4 1/2 games behind the Wave.
Omaha and Missouri will meet again next Sunday at the Omaha Civic Center.
