Golden Bears Goalkeeper Bingham Joins 2011 Generation adidas Class

California Golden Bears goalkeeper David Bingham became the 11th member Monday of the 2011 class of Generation adidas players in Major League Soccer and will be part of a lottery Wednesday afternoon with interested MLS teams.

He is the second goalkeeper in the class, joining Maryland's Zac MacMath, who was chosen by the Philadelphia Union in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, and is the sixth player from the Berkeley school in the class, joining already drafted players Servando Carrasco (Seattle Sounders), Hector Jimemez (Los Angeles Galaxy), Demitrius Omphroy (Toronto FC), Davis Paul (Chicago Fire) and A.J. Soares (New England Revolution).

Bingham was a National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American as an junior in 2010, posting eight shutouts in 20 games that season, including the NCAA College Cup tournament, and gave up one goal in four different games.
