The Chicago Fire gained the services of former Toronto FC goalkeeper Jon Conway Thursday in a trade for their third-round pick in Thursday's Major League Soccer SuperDraft in Baltimore.
Conway began his career in 2000 with the original San Jose Earthquakes, where he played for five seasons, making 18 appearances over that time.
He was traded to the New York Red Bulls in 2006, playing in 69 games over the next three seasons and posting a 1.345 goals against average before being traded next to Chivas USA for the 2009 season, then finally to Toronto.
With MLS bringing back the Reserve Division in the 2011 seasons, Conway could serve as a starter on that team.
Toronto selected midfielder Joao Plata from LDU Quito of Ecuador with the pick they received.
