Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo confirmed Saturday they have extended contract offers to two midfielders currently enrolled in the team's youth academy, Josue Soto and Alex Dixon.
Should the two accept the offers, the Dynamo would be tied with FC Dallas for having the most Home Grown Players on a league roster with five.
Soto, who finished his college career at SMU, was one of the first players to join the academy when it opened in January 2007 and was offered his deal Wednesday, which made him ineligible for selection in Thursday's 2011 MLS SuperDraft.
Born in Fort Worth, TX, but raised in Monterrey, Mexico, Soto has dual citizenship.
Dixon completed his junior season at North Carolina and came to the Dynamo Academy in late '07. He led the Tar Heels to three straight appearances in the NCAA College Cup tournaments and scored a goal in three straight games of the 2009 tournament.
