Andre Gustavo Sandri Silva and Carlos "Chile" Farias each had five-point nights with a three-point and a two-point goal as the host Omaha Vipers beat the Missouri Comets 16-10 in Major Indoor Soccer League play from the Omaha Civic Auditorium Sunday.
Victor Quiroz had a two-point goal and assisted on a Johnny Torres score and Tijani Ayegbusi also had a standard goal for the Vipers, now 6-7 and in third place, four games between the league co-leading Milwaukee Wave, the defending regular season champion, and the Baltimore Blast at 10-3. The Vipers will host the Wave Thursday.
Byron Alvarez led the Comets with five points as he had a pair of two-pointers and assisted on a Leo Gibson goal. Nick Kelly and Geison Moura each added goals as the Comets fell to 4-10, fourth place in the standings and 6 1/2 games behind the Wave and Blast. Missouri next plays this Sunday against the Chicago Riot at the Odeum Sports & Expo Center in Villa Park, IL.
