Crew Signs Forward Heinemann To Multi-Year Deal

Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew announced the signing Friday of forward Tom Heinemann to a multi-year deal after spending his last two seasons with the Charleston Battery in the USL First Division (2009) and USL Second Division (2010) and the Carolina RailHawks, previously of the USSF Division 2 Pro League, now a part of the North American Soccer League.

In 2010, Heinemann had eight goals and seven assists and started 21 of 25 games for the Battery as they won the final USL-2 Championship as the league has merged with the USL First Division to form USL PRO for the 2011 season, then scored six goals in 12 games for the RailHawks en route to the team playing in the USSF D-2 championship series.

Heinemann trained with the Crew during the 2009 preseason after playing his college career at Rockhurst University.
