Chivas Cuts Three, Invites Three As Non-Roster Invitees To Training Camp

New head coach Robin Fraser released three members of former head coach Martin Vasquez's roster with Major League Soccer's Chivas USA as the team opened training camp Friday -- forwards Maykel Galindo and Rodrigo Espinoza and defender Dario Delgado.

Galindo spent the second half of the 2010 season on loan to FC Tampa Bay of the then-USSF Division 2 Pro League, now with the North American Soccer League.

His best season with Chivas was in 2007 when he scored 12 goals.

Espinoza had a goal and an assist in his rookie season of 2010 and Delgado played in 22 games but registered no goals or assists.

Fraser brought back midfielder Francisco "Panchito" Mendoza as one of three non-roster invitees to the camp. Mendoza played 111 games over three seasons with Chivas before the club released him in 2008 and had been playing throughout Mexico ever since.

Also at camp are defender Joaquin Beltran and goalkeeper Sergio Arias.

Beltran played 10 seasons with Pumas UNAM in Mexico's Primera Division, appearing in 326 games.

Arias was a member of parent club Chivas de Guadalajara's youth academy and was a member of Mexico's U-17 boys' team that won the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.
