Burke To Become Player/Assistant Coach For Kickers In 2011

The Richmond Kickers of USL PRO announced Wednesday midfielder Mike Burke will return for his 12th season with the franchise as a player/assistant coach.

In 2010, Burke was named the final Assists Champion in the USL Second Division, which merged with the USL First Division to form USL PRO, and was named to his fourth USL-2 All-League Second Team en route to a sixth championship game appearance with the team.

He had a goal and five assists during the regular season and assisted on a goal in a 3-1 second round win in the 2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament.

Burke is the Kicker's all-time leader in asssts with 61 and became the leader in matches played with 273 after appearing in 24 games in 2010.

He is also a six-time team Supporter's Choice Most Valuable Player.
