In their second transaction of the day Tuesday, the new Major League Soccer champion Colorado Rapids announced the signing of defender Marvell Wynne to a multi-year contract extension.
Wynne, who played in the unfamiliar position of central defender on the pitch this season, started all 27 games he played for Colorado.
The former number one overall pick of the New York Red Bulls in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft has started 117 of 123 career games played and has two goals and 13 assists.
