Galaxy Won't Be Loaning Out Donovan In Offseason

Choosing to have him stay in the States to prepare for leading his team to their goal of the 2011 Major League Soccer Cup championship game, the Los Angeles Galaxy announced Tuesday they have no plans for Landon Donovan to be loaned to a foreign team when the international transfer window re-opens January 1.

Donovan played for Bayern Munich of the German Bundesliga and Everton of the English Premier League before the 2009 and 2010 MLS seasons, but returned each time to Los Angeles in time for the respective MLS seasons.

He has seven goals and a league-high 16 assists in 24 regular season games last season and was named to the league's Best XI.
