Comets Sign John, Harding To 15-Day Contracts

The Missouri Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced Tuesday they have signed forward Will John and defender Jamie Harding to 15-day contracts, beginning with Wednesday's home game at the Independence Events Center against the Baltimore Blast.

Both players have ties to the Kansas City area.

John, who still holds the single-season scoring record at Rockhurst High School in Overland Park, KS with 36 goals and 20 assists, played college soccer at St. Louis University, then was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2005 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by the Chicago Fire, where he led them in scoring during that season's Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament run.

He was traded in the 2006 season to the Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting Kansas City), where he played in four games.

John will return to the States after playing currently in Croatia for NK Yinogradar.

Harding, who played collegiately at Kansas Newman College in Wichita, KS, went on to play in the original MISL for the Wichita Wings from 1996 to 2002 before being traded to the Kansas City Comets in 2003.
