Woodie Taking Helm Of New W-League's Fredericksburg Impact

The expansion Fredericksburg Impact of the USL W-League named former Virginia Commonwealth University defender and former Richmond Kickers Destiny player-coach Jen Woodie as the team's first head coach this past Wednesday.

Woodie is currently in her fourth season as assistant coach at the University of Richmond.

During her senior season with the VCU Rams, Woodie was an All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team selection, was named the Most Valuable Player of the VCU Eurosport Invitational tournament, was named to the All-Tournament teams at the William & Mary Invitational and Oregon State University/Nike Invitational tournament, and was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team.

She was also a two-time CAA All-Tournment selection in her junior and senior years, was the team's Most Outstanding Player in her junior year, and was the conference's top Scholar Athlete in her freshman season.

Woodie led VCU to a CAA Tournament title and two appearances at the NCAA Women's College Cup tournament in her final two seasons.

She played for the Destiny from 2004 to 2009, serving as player-coach in her final season there.
