The expansion and yet-unnamed Western New York franchise in Women's Professional Soccer began to draft their first roster of players Friday by selecting Atlanta Beat defender Kaley Fountain and Washington Freedom midfielder Beverly Goebel in the 2010 Expansion Draft.
Fountain began her WPS career last season with the eventual champion FC Gold Pride, but was released after five games and later picked up by the Beat, where she started two of five games there.
Goebel, the 27th overall pick in the 2010 WPS Draft, started nine of 16 games with the Freedom, scoring her first professional goal against the Chicago Red Stars.
