Wave Open Defense Of MISL Title By Beating Expansion Comets

Tenzin Rampa, Josh Rife and Hewerton Moreira each had a pair of two-point goals as the defending Major Indoor Soccer League regular season champion Milwaukee Wave opened the 2010-11 season wth a 20-8 rout of the expansion Missouri Comets in their inaugural game at the Independence Events Center in Independence, MO.

La RaZa de Monterrey, who won the league championship in 2009-10, folded their operations.

Marcio Leite had a two-pointer as well and assisted on two goals and Guiliano Oliviero, J.P. Rodriguez and Matt Stewart also posted goals.

Jamar Beasley led the Comets with two two-point shots and assisted on a Leo Gibson goal in the loss. Mirsad Dzilic also scored for Missouri.

Both teams will meet again November 26 at US Cellular Arena in Milwaukee.
