The expansion Omaha Vipers of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced the signing Tuesday of defender Fabio Ribiero, better known as Fabinho.

He played the 2009-10 season with the Baltimore Blast and the 2008-09 season with the former Rockford Rampage, where he scored a three-point goal and blocked 14 shots.

Before Rockford, Ribiero spent four seasons with the MISL's Chicago Storm, where he had 21 goals and 20 assists for 65 points in 76 career games and blocked 80 shots, and played one season each with the MISL's Kansas City Comets and the Continental Indoor Soccer League's Dallas Sidekicks.

Ribiero led his native country of Brazil's National Futsal Team to the title at the 1999 International Futsal Championship tournament during his three seasons with the team (1996-99).
