DC United and forward Danny Allsopp mutually agreed Monday to terminate his Major League Soccer contract.
The Australian-born Allsopp, who joined United January 18, 2010 after playing in Qatar for Al-Rayyan, scored five goals in 23 league games, starting 18.
He finished the 2010 season tied with recently-named MLS Rookie of the year Andy Najar in goals with five, but Allsopp had a club-best three game-winning goals.
In 2009, Allsopp scored six goals in 12 games for Al-Rayyan after moving from Melbourne Victory of his home country's Hyundai A-League, where he played for four seasons and was the league's 2006 Golden Boot winner with 12 goals that season.
He also played in England for such teams as Manchester City, Hull City and Notts County and played in three games for Australia's national team.
