Timbers, Whitecaps Make Picks In Expansion Draft; Timbers Trade Top Pick McCarty To DC United

Major League Soccer's two expansion franchises for the 2011 season -- the Portland Timbers and the Vancouver Whitecaps -- added more players to their roster Wednesday via an Expansion Draft.

However, the biggest news came after the draft took place as the Timbers, who had the first pick in each of the draft's ten rounds, traded their top pick, former FC Dallas midfielder Dax McCarty to the worst team in the league last season, DC United, in exchange for midfielder Rodney Wallace and the lowest of their fourth round picks in next month's MLS SuperDraft.

Here is a round-by-round recap of how the Expansion Draft unfolded.
