Stars Defeat Pumas In Tacoma's First Pro Indoor Soccer Game In 18 Years

Player-head coach Greg Howes joined Todd Stauber and Leighton O'Brien in scoring two goals each as the Tacoma Stars defeated the Kitsap Pumas 8-6 Saturday in both teams' Professional Arena Soccer League season opener Saturday at the Tacoma Soccer Center.

It was Tacoma's first professional indoor soccer game in 18 years. The Stars had been playing in the second-level Premier Arena Soccer League for several years but chose to promote themselves to the top level.

Greg Miley led the Pumas with two goals.

The Stars hit the road this weekend for games against the defending league champion San Diego Sockers Saturday and Revolucion Tijuana next Sunday.
