The expansion Chicago Riot of the Major Indoor Soccer League unveiled their 16-player roster Tuesday ahead of their inaugural league game Friday at First Mariner Arena against the Baltimore Blast and named Lotto the team's official uniform supplier.
The Riot, who have 12 players who competed for the now-defunct Rockford Rampage last season, will be coached by Jeff Kraft, with midfielder Novica Marojevic serving as player/assistant coach.
Marojevic played indoor soccer for the Chicago Storm, Detroit Ignition, Rochester Rhinos and Kansas City Attack as well as playing outdoors for nine years for such teams in Europe as Sutjeska, Radnicki, Partizan, Vozdovac and Celik.
Chicago has named midfielder Fred Degand as captain after scoring two three-point goals, six two-pointers, five assists and 14 block in 19 games in Rockford last season.
Drafted by the Cleveland Crunch of the National Professional Soccer League in 2001 out of Bowling Green State University, Degand began his pro career instead with the Cleveland Force in the NPSL's 2003-04 season.
At goalkeeper will be Jeff Richey, the 2009 National Indoor Soccer League's Player of the Year who saved 54 shots in three games in Rockford's 2009-10 season and also was named to the 2004 US National Futsal Team that played in Brazil.
At forwards, Semir Mesanovic and Bato Radoncic will lead the offensive unit.
Mesanovic scored 45 points in 22 combined games last season in the MISL between the Rampage and the former Philadelphia Kixx on two three-pointers, 15 two-pointers, nine assists and 18 blocks.
Radoncic had 32 points last season in Rockford and was named to the 2008-09 NISL All-Second Team with the Rampage.
