Revolucion Tijuana Opens First PASL Season With Win At Cougars

Edgar Lemas scored four consecutive goals to lead Revolucion Tijuana, a provisional franchise in the Professional Arena Soccer League last season, to an 11-7 victory in their first game as a full league member over the host California Cougars Friday at Stockton Arena.

Hugo Zapata and Edgar Rivas scored goals 33 seconds apart in the fourth quarter and Tijuana also had two empty net goals in the victory.

Craig Scheer and Antonio Sutton led the Cougars with two goals each and Chris Handsor added a goal and assisted on two others.

Tijuana next hosts the Tacoma Stars Sunday at Funati while the Cougars face intrastate rival and the defending North American champion San Diego Sockers next Saturday at Del Mar Arena.
