Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls Friday handed out their 2010 season individual team awards.
Here are the winners:
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
Joel Lindpere, Midfielder
- Had three goals and a team-high six assists in starting 29 of 30 regular season games
- Was a finalist for MLS Newcomer of the Year
DEFENDER OF THE YEAR
Tim Ream
- Was a finalist for MLS Rookie of the Year
- One of two players (the other being FC Dallas forward David Ferreira) this season and one of three rookies in league history who played all 2,700 minutes
- Had a goal this season but led defensive unit that gave up an Eastern Conference-best 29 goals and earned the team 13 shutouts. Both statistics are also team records
GOLDEN BOOT AWARD
Juan Pablo Angel, forward
- Won the award for fourth and final time as he will not return to the team in 2011
- Had 13 goals, sixth-most in the league's Golden Boot race
- Had career-highs this season in games played (30) and minutes played (2,593)
- Also had three assists and took a career- and league-high 98 shots
- Three of his goals were game-winners, with two of those coming in second-half stoppage time
MLS W.O.R.K.S HUMANITARIAN OF THE YEAR
Seth Stammler, midfielder
- Founded Sporting Chance Foundation to help victims of a devastating earthquake and flood in Haiti.
