Ohio's Eller Named First-Ever PASL-Pro Player Of The Week

Forward Allen Eller of the Ohio Vortex was named Thursday the first-ever Professional Arena Soccer League Player of the Week.

The defending Scoring Champion with 53 points and the second-place finisher in the Golden Boot competition with 34 goals, Eller scored five goals in leading the Vortex to an 11-10 victory over the Detroit Waza in their season opener last Saturday.

Eller began his career in the National Professional Soccer League in 1999, then played for the USL's Pittsburgh Riverhounds (1999-2001), the Houston Hotshots (2000) of the World Indoor Soccer League, the Harrisburg Heat of the Major Indoor Soccer League (2002), the Cincinnati Riverhawks of USL (2002), the Baltimore Blast of MISL (2002-05), and the MISL's Cleveland Force in 2005.

The league will begin issuing a POTW award after every week of the regular season.
