Morgan Hands USWNT First Leg Win Over Italy In Final WWC Qualifier

University of California forward Alex Morgan, the youngest player on the current US Women's National Team roster at 21, scored the game's lone goal in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time to give them a 1-0 win over Italy in the first leg of a FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying series in Padova, Italy.

The winner of this two-game aggregate goal series, which ends next Saturday at Toyota Paek in Bridgeview, IL, will earn the final spot in the field for the 2011 tournament.

Morgan has four goals in eight appearances with the team.
