The new Major League Soccer champion Colorado Rapids Monday traded defenders Julien Baudet and Danny Earls to the Seattle Sounders in exchange for midfielder Peter Vagenas.
Vagenas is a two-time MLS Cup winner -- in 2002 with Sporting Kansas City (formerly Kansas City Wizards) and in 2005 with the Los Angeles Galaxy, where he also helped them win the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup that season.
Due to a strained quadricep. he started and played in seven games this season, including three games in the CONCACAF Champions League tournament.
Baudet scored one goal in 28 appearances since joining Seattle in July 2010 and started 14 out of 22 games in 2010.
In his only season with Seattle, Earls started 15 of 18 games.
