The Louisville Lightning of the Professional Arena Soccer League announced the signings Tuesday of former Bellamine University star mdfielder Ross Hopkins and defender Grant Wheeler.
Hopkins was named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference First Team and the Daktronics All-Midwest Region First Team as a senior in 2010 and had six goals and six assists in his final collegiate season.
He ranked in the top five in the conference in five statistical categories last season and leaves Bellamine as their second all-time leading player in career assists with 25.
Wheeler, an All-GVAC Third Team player in 2010, scored two goals in 16 games this season and eight goals over his 53-game, three-season career.
