Farias Hat Trick Leads Vipers Over Comets

Carlos "Chile" Farias had a hat trick with two of the goals unassisted and Joseph Bontti assisted on the third as the visiting Omaha Vipers edged the host Missouri Comets 14-10 in a matchup of Major Indoor Soccer League expansion teams at the Independence Events Center in Independence, MO.

Ricardo Cavalcante scored on a power play goal and assisted on a Aurinei Parisetto play as the Vipers won their first game as a franchise (1-0).

Paulo Le Petit got help from Victor Quiroz on an Omaha goal and Frederico Moojen assisted on a strike from Shaun David.

For the Comets (0-2), Geison Moura scored a three-point goal and assisted on another goal and Leo Gibson also posted a three-pointer. Byron Alvarex and Vahid Assadpour each had a goal and an assist in the loss.

The two teams will face off again Sunday at the Omaha Civic Center.
