Comets Sign Former Wizard Beasley To Contract

The expansion Missouri Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced the signing Thursday of forward Jamar Beasley, who played three seasons in Kansas City with Major League Soccer's Wizards.

Beasley went from high school to MLS in 1998 and was the youngest to ever sign with the league when he played for the New England Revolution.

Between 1998 and 2001, he scored a combined seven goals and eight assists in 59 games between the Revolution and the Chicago Fire.

Beasley left the US for Italy in 2002, playing for Atletico Puteolana, before returning in 2003 to play three seasons with the Wizards, scoring 53 goals in 61 games.

In 2005, he switched to the Major Indoor Soccer League and joined the St. Louis Steamers, where he scored 33 goals in 30 games over two seasons.

He then played the next two seasons with the Detroit Ignition, scoring 40 goals in 29 games, and has played the last two in the current version of the MISL with the Rockford Rampage.

Beasley has also represented the US on their 2004 and 2008 teams at the FIFA Futsal World Cup.

Beasley is the older brother for Glasgow Rangers and US Men's National team forward DeMarcus Beasley.
