The expansion Missouri Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced Monday Nick Vasos and Nick McCabe will be the broadcast team for all 12 home games this season, to be aired over their website, http://www.cometsindoorsoccer.com/.
Vasos has worked for FOX 4 in Kansas City as their general assignment traffic reporter and anchor since 2002 and has over 20 years of broadcast experience.
McCabe spent 10 of his 15 years in the broadcasting business as director of operations for Union Broadcasting's Sports Radio 810 WHB in Kansas City and has been the lead announcer on their high school football game of the week broadcasts since 1998. He also owns McCabe Multimedia, a marketing, writing and broadcasting firm.
The Comets also signed three players to the roster Monday.
Forward Mirsad Dzilic had 51 goals and 19 assists in three seasons at Park University in Kansas City, was a National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics Third Team All-American, and is the all-time leading goal scorer for the Premier Arena Soccer League's Kansas City Kings.
Midfielder Matthew Iverson, who also played for the Kings, played college soccer for Johnson County Community College and Graceland University and had 14 goals and seven goals during the 2007 and 2008 seasons.
Defender Stefan Stokich also played for Park University and spent the 2004-05 MISL season with the Kansas City Comets and the 2007-08 season with the league's New Jersey Ironmen.
