Former President Bill Clinton, named in May 2010 as the honorary chairman of the USA's bid to host another FIFA World Cup in the future, will speak before FIFA's executive committee December 1 in Zurich, Switzerland, a day before the global soccer federation announces the host cities for the 2018 and 2022 events.
The US, which originally planned to bid for both tournaments, recently decided it would only compete for the 2022 bid, along with Qatar, Australia, Japan and South Korea.
England, Russia and joint bids by Spain-Portugal and Belgium-Holland are being considered for the 2018 tournament.
