US Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley, recently signed to a four-year contract extension through the 2014 FIFA World Cup, announced his 20-man roster for a series of upcoming friendly games October 9 against Poland at Soldier Field in Chicago and October 12 against Colombia at PPL Park in Chester, PA.
Because the games will take place on days that conflict with Major League Soccer fixture days, the roster is made up of mostly European league-based players.
The two MLS stars on the roster -- defender Heath Pierce and midfielder Brek Shea, both from FC Dallas -- will miss the Poland game and will meet up with the team October 10 in Philadelphia, as FC Dallas has a home game October 9 against the Colorado Rapids at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX.
13 of the 20 players were part of the the US team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa that won their first group play in 80 years and six of the players are younger than 25 years old.
