The Louisville Lightning of the Professional Arena Soccer League announced the signings Friday of midfielders Simon Bird, David Horne and Tony Jouaux for the 2010-11 season.
Bird averaged two goals per game and had three assists for 12 points in five games for the 2009-10 expansion team.
He played three seasons for the University of Louisville, leading them in scoring each season, and finished with 29 goals over 50 games.
Bird also was named a Big East Conference Player of the Year and was invited to participate in 2003 Major League Soccer Combine.
Bird also played for many teams in England after leaving the Cardinals.
Horne, who also is the team's general manager, was third on the team in scoring with 25 points on 18 goals and a team third-best seven assists.
Jouaux, also a former Cardinal, scored five goals and two assists in seven games for the Lightning last season.
