Despite being already eliminated from qualifying for the Knockout Stage of the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League tournament last week, Michael Fucito scored the only goals of the match as Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders shut out Mexico's Marathon 2-0 Wednesday in Group C play at Qwest Fied.
Seattle is now 1-4-0 with three points and ends their tournament stay October 19 when they host Saprissa of Costa Rica (2-2-1, seven points).
Marathon fell to 2-3-0 with six points, putting them one behind Saprissa for second place, which would earn them a berth in the next phase of the competition. They will host another Mexican foe, Monterrey, October 20.
