Mendoza Goal Puts Crew On Top Of Group B Standings In CCL; Toronto-Cruz Azul Play To Draw

Andres Mendoza scored in the 87th minute as the host Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer beat Santos Laguna of Mexico's Primera Division 1-0 at Crew Stadium in round four of Group B play in the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League tournament.

With the win, the Crew took the lead in the group standings at 3-1-0 with nine points and two rounds of play left in the group stage. Columbus travels next Wednesday to Municipal in Guatemala.

Santos Laguna is two points behind Columbus in second at 2-1-1 with seven points and will host Joe Public of Trinidad & Tobago next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, in Group A play, Major League Soccer's Toronto FC and Mexico's Cruz Azul played to a scoreless draw in Mexico Tuesday.

Azul leads the group at 2-1-1 with seven points and hosts Arabe Unido of Panama next Tuesday.

Toronto FC is in third place at 1-2-1 with four points and hosts the defending MLS champion Real Salt Lake next Tuesday at BMO Field.
