Wizards Sign Bravo To 2011 Deal, Loaned Back To Chivas De Guadalajara

Major League Soccer's Kansas City Wizards announced the signing Friday of Mexican forward Omar Bravo of the Primera Division's Chivas de Guadalajara as a Desiganted Player for the 2011 season and said he will be loaned back to his current team for the rest of their season.

Guadalajara is the parent club of MLS' Chivas USA.

Bravo will remain with the team through the 2010 Apertura season and the current 2010 Copa Libertadores tournament, in which they are meeting Brazil's Internacional for the championship title.

The loan agreement also calls for KC and CDG to play a home-and-home exhibition series in the 2011 season.

Bravo is the team's second all-time leading scorer with 106 goals, 16 behind leader Salvador Reyes.

A player who grew up through the team's youth system and only played one season outside of Mexico (2008-09 with Deportivo La Coruna in Spain), Bravo has scored 151 career goals in 442 combined games between CDG and Mexico's national team.
