USSF D-2's Stars May Fade Away If Financial Partner Not Found Soon

The owners of the NSC Minnesota Stars of the USSF Division 2 Pro League announced Monday the franchise may have to fold after this season if it can't find a financial backer to help meet tougher restrictions by the US Soccer Federation to retain Division 2 league status.

The team kas been owned by the non-profit NSC Foundation since January 2010 after the folding of the Minnesota Thunder, who played mostly in the USL First Division after the 2009 USL-1 season.
