USL Second Division Monday announced the winners of statistical achievements for the just-completed 2010 season.
Charleston Battery forward Lamar Neagle defeated Richmond Kickers forward Matthew Delicate for the Scoring (25 points) and Goal Scoring Championship (12), doing both over 19 games this season.
Kickers midfielder Mike Burke and Battery forward Tom Heinemann will share the 2010 USL2 Assist Leader award with five assists each.
Heinemann was also third in the league this season in goals (seven) and points (10).
Burke won the Assist Leader title in 2007 and 2008. He also was the league's Most Valuable Player in 2007.
Finally, Ronnie Pascale was named the Goals Against Average winner with a 0.882 average over 17 games. He alllowed 15 goals this season and had six shutouts, tying him for the league lead. Pascale is a three-time league Goalkeeper of the Year (2006, 2007 and 2009).
In this year's playoffs, the second place and defending league champion Kickers host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds this Saturday at Richmond City Stadium with the winner advancing to the 2010 USL-2 Championship Game at Blackbaud Stadium against the regular season champion Charleston Battery August 28.
USL-2 will announce the members of the 2010 All-League Teams next Monday, August 23, followed by the naming of nominees for individual awards (Coach of the Year, Defender of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player) Wednesday, August 25, with the winners to be announced August 27, along with the Goalkeeper of the Year award, at the 2010 USL-2 Championship Media Brunch in Charleston, SC.
