Union's Le Toux Earns Green Card; Signs Defender Alzate

Major League Soccer's expansion franchise Philadelphia Union announced Thursday midfielder Sebastien Le Toux has earned his Green Card, making him an official US citizen, and freeing a spot on the team's international roster, which was filled Thursday by signing Colombian defender Juan Diego Gonzalez Alzate.

MLS teams are allowed a maximum of three international players and Alzate now joins Finnish midfielder Toni Stahl and Argentinian midfielder Eduardo Coudet on the roster.

Alzate has played for clubs in his home country, as well in Argentina and Mexico.

He led La Equidad to the 2008 Colombian Cup title and won Argentina's San Lorenzo the International Mercosor Cup in 2001.
